Once in a while I wander over to another trad-site to do a little reading.  I "see" some of the same folks here over there.

As I rubberneck (leather neck?), the tone on that site is so less cooperative and encouraging, mostly because of a handful of folks who are there to bait and puff their feathers. (By the way, I used a word in that last sentence that would get a bunch of folks over there ranting and raving!)

There is one other site, that is much less feature-filled, that is trad-only and very bow specific that I find as civil as Trad Gang.

I'm no web expert but I really like the way this site is organized, the search feature, and of course the mods are effective and mostly invisible -- all features I like.   The only thing I wish were a little easier here would be the posting of pictures. I use Photo Bucket (without great skill). I'm quite sure there are multiple good reasons why this the photo protocol (cost savings, band conservation, etc.).

I'll bet you folks read some doozies without most of us ever knowing what lurks behind some of those computer keys.

Thanks

Thanks Terry et al.  This is the only hunting related site I go to, period.

There are good reasons for this.

Agreed, a high number of members doesn't mean anything if the are not the "right members".

I was so grateful to find a forum for respectful, open discussion in Tradgang when I wanted to learn traditional archery. I read it to glean information from people who know more than me, and maybe share a thing or two I learn along the way.

Inevitably, it's when I communicate with people outside of Tradgang (other local hunters, family friends) about my hunting that I run into patronizing, condescending, and disrespectful attitudes about my choices and interests.

Keep it real, Terry!

This is the most unique cyber-community I know of, a great place to learn and grow within tradtional archery. Most folks are generous with both their knowledge and other resources.

Damn Right!
I have noticed some questionable comments. I wasn't sure what to do about it as I still feel new myself. I'll wake up and let you know if something seems amiss.
