Kota killum recurve....may have to hide it!
« on: November 26, 2012, 05:26:00 PM »
I just picked up a Kota Killum off the classifieds and should have it in less than a week. While I'm waiting, has anybody out  there spent any time shooting one. Likes or dislikes..... Give me your honest opinions....thanks, ron w

Great bows. longbow style grip lets you switch between recurve and longbow with no difference in feel. Very quiet and light weight, smooth shooter excellent craftsmanship. You will enjoy it.

It appears similar to a Peregrine I have Robertson use to make and I was considering the Killum for a friend, but you were quick. Stony expresses my feelings about it. If its like my Peregrine, I'd enjoy it but you'll have to enjoy it for me,eh?

had one and wish I hadn't sold it, nicest shooting curve I've shot, and I own a few. Light in the hand , way smooth to draw, and dead in the hand, was a just to light for my likes

Ron - I'm with Tater in that it looks like a Peregrine, I love mine.  I also like the smooth lines of the Killum but haven't shot one.  Be sure to add a report when you get it, and a few pictures.

I had one, Ron. They are nice bows. They are not cut to center, so you'll need to tune for that. It's not a problem really, just takes a bit weaker shaft to tune. They are kind of a longbow in recurve form. Mine was birdseye maple...very pretty. They are very high quality, well made bows.

Another one I let slip away.    "[dntthnk]"

Enjoy it Ron!

I just received a new one about 3 weeks ago and love it.  Unfortunately,I haven't had much time to shoot it but the arrows I have released are impressive to me.  A true 50's style recurve and is very well made, dead in the hand, quiet and shoots with authority. Mine is 47# @ 28" and I am shooting CE Heritage 150's cut to 29" with about 200 grains up front and 3 x 5" shields.

Best of luck with yours.

I got my Kota-Killum recurve today. I am very pleased.....I'm a 50's Recurve kind'a guy and this fits the bill. My go to bow is a Holm-Made River Runner and this bow is very much like that, same length, almost the same poundage and it appears to perform about the same. Did a bit of shooting this afternoon and I'm thinking this is going to be on the rack for a while.

Had one...osage and some of the prettiest i've ever seen. very very quiet bow. Tims workmanship is up there with the top handful of bowyers, hes been at this for years. Id like to try his prairie fire longbow. enjoy your bow!
