Jack B Harrison El Lobo
« on: November 27, 2012, 05:25:00 AM »
HI all

Just purchased this second hand 2004 El Lobo made by Jack B Harrison. Apparently this was his personal bow and is featured in his book! I will endeavour to take better pics when it arrives.

62",RH,two piece take down, macasser ebony riser, water buff tips and riser overlay, gold wolf inlay in riser, 57#@28", carbon back and belly, rattle snake skin on back

Hope you like it and interested to hear from other Harrison owners!

Hey Buranurra, I too have a Harrison HSS TD 58#
It has ebony riser with dall sheep overlays and shoots great.I think you and I may be the only Harrison owners in W.A.
Shoot me another message sometime and maybe we could check each others bows out.
Cheers Arrowang-----

Nice bow, seen it advertised, too heavy for me.

Jason,

Not an El Lobo, it is a Black Wolf.

Cool Black Wolf it is - I was just confused over the sizes - either way I am looking forward to the bow.

Thanks again

Selling it has nothing to do with the bow, all of Jacks bows are top of the line, believe me if I could control my shot with a longbow as well as I do with my recurves, this bow would never have left my home.

Excellent!

What sort of string do you guys recommend for it? I was thinking an 8 strand SBD, but read somewhere that Mr Harrison doesn't recommend flemish twist.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Cheers

You are correct Jase, Jack recommends D97 endless strings on his bows. The string on it is in good shape.

Probably won't matter since the bow has changed hands...but in his warranty (re-stated in his book) he voids the warranty if you use a flemish string, or a dacron string.

Okay cool, thanks for the info Danny and LBR. Interesting that my Tolke Whip also came with endless loops.  What would be recommendations for future best quality replacements?

Many thanks

I would look at LBR's strings. He makes very good custom strings, both endless and flemish and he is a long time sponser on TG.

Anyone know why?
