lightweight wood arrows?
« on: November 27, 2012, 05:41:00 PM »
Hey everybody,

I am currently shooting a 50@27" border griffon with POC Arrows (ca. 410gr), so 8,2 gpp.

I want to change bow now that will draw only 42@27" and want to keep my 8,2 gpp.

So I will need wood arrows weighing between 340 and 350 grains. What shafts should I use? Is that possible at all? Sitka Spruce? Any suggestions?

Help would be much appreciated. Thank you very much in advance,
Seb

Gonna be tough, as you will be looking for 300g full length shafts. Or you can do what I do, FULL LENGTH TAPER them! Start 6 or so inches from the rear, then the halfway point, then then finish up 2-3" B.O.P. that takes off substantial wood weight for your cause, 5/16's shafts may also get you there, I would full length taper some 11/32's and use 100g points.
