"Don't Wait Too Long"
« on: November 29, 2012, 06:48:00 PM »
One of the first hunting books I remember reading was Ted Truebloods Hunting Treasury... The chapter that stands out was entitled Don't Wait Too Long... In a nutshell it said to enjoy Gods gift of life now... Guess this book motivated my life style.

Point being, I lost my kid brother today to his battle with cancer... Even though we took opposite roads in life it pains me to see him go this way... Everything will now be seen in a different light... A simple walk in the woods, day at the 3D range, spending time with my wife and scottie dogs is all a gift from God!

How many bows or firearms I own don't mean doddle anymore... I know in time I'll get past this and enjoy time afield again... But right now, I need to be blue.

... mike ...  :(  ...

Grief is a process ... a road we all must travel.  For some the road is longer and more deserted than others.

My condolences.  You will be in my prayers ... may your road not be so long.  I wish you God's peace.

Bob.

My condolences on the loss of your brother. You and your family will be in my prayers tonight.

A hunt based only on trophies taken falls far short of what the ultimate goal should be . . . time to commune with your inner soul as you share the outdoors with the birds, animals, and fish that live there.

Do not follow where the path may lead.  Go, instead, where there is no path and leave a trail.

I have lost a kid brother too.
I am thinking of you, and your brother, and mine, and offering up the hurt and loss to the One who may be able to help with such questions.

I am sorry that such sorrow should befall you.

I am  reading this as I sit in a hospital room with all the doctors telling my wife it's time for her to consider going into hospice care. I unsterstand as good as most the emotions as I going through them. Don't put blinders on to the world around you I think or should say hope the days will get easier for you

Condolences on your loss. There is a Chinese proverb that says something like an inch of gold will not buy an inch of time. We all should make the most of of our time, particularly our limited time in the woods!
