Trad shoots in AR and southern MO
« on: November 29, 2012, 09:04:00 PM »
I looked on the state sights at the bottom of this sight but didnt really see any thing. I know its still early and deer season is far from being over but I dont want to miss anything this year like I did last year. I have to know ahead of time to plain for time off work and make sure the boys dont have something coming up with sports or anything else. Please help me get my schedule on order so I dont miss anything this year thanks Mike

google - 3dshoots.com

There are several in southern MO, and some trad shoots too. Mojam has a shoot and a whole lot more!
Stay sharp, Kenny.

Mike, I went to the AL shoot (pre-spring arrow fling) last year and really enjoyed the shoot.  The people who put it on were just great.  I agree with Bow man, this would really be a good one to go to.

Mike, a few years ago there was a pretty good group of us that would meet up and hit the Jonesboro and Paragould shoots together.  These are not trad only shoots but the trad guys grouped up and shot through them together.  It was always fun. Perhaps we could pull something like that together again this year.

The Flat rock shoot outside of Springfield, MO  (Bois D'Arc I think) is a great one. It's in the spring in May I beleive. These guys set up a great course.

Think about the Jerry pierce shoot in Mississippi in May. It's a great time. It's about 6 hours from St. Louis. Worth the drive.

The site "Missouri Whitetails" lists Missouri 3D shoots... many times more timely and accurately than other sites.  It will be a topic in their forums.

The Jerry Pierce Memorial is the same time.
The additional draw for the Pierce shoot is the Saturday night food.

A new shoot that has started in southwest MO is put on by Don Orrell and the Panther Creek Traditional Archery Club. Don has the shoot out at his place which is near Fordland, MO. During the winter the shoots take place once a week inside his huge horse arena. When the weather gets warmer, he has a 3D course set up outside and the shoots are held on a monthly basis. There is plenty of camping space, if you want to stay the weekend, and he always has some vittles fixed to eat.

For more info, call Don at 417-830-0876. Google 754 Low Gap Road, Fordland, MO to get directions to his place.
