Here is what I have done so far:

Bow hush on strings

SBD string with wool puffs

Velcro on the limbs

I am shooting 7595 with 200 gr up front - flying like darts

48@30" 62" PMAX

Shoot 3 under

It does not sound like string noise.

I know I read about some tricks that people have done in the limb attachment area but I can't remember what they are. Any thoughts? I can't find the post on what I saw before.

what are you running your brace height,i run mine at 8 1/2 inches.i also redid the felt in the limb pockets,i also removed my antler bolts and used brass bolts...also i use a bow quiver,it may help reduce vibration......

I would check your brace height and nocking point.

I have been around a lot of Black Widows and many are just plain loud. That said with the set-up you describe you may be a bit spine stiff and getting some tail slap. I would rely more on paper-tuning than visual to get "flight like darts".

The long draw length and 3 under will make about any bow loud.  I struggle with a 32.5" draw and found that two sets of rubber spider leg silencers seem to work best, along with velcro pads at the string/limb contact points.  I also wrap (pad) my string ends where they contact the limb grooves with yarn.  Helps a lot.  I found with my bows and draw length, the original Widow strings were quieter than the SBD strings.  I had no good results with puffs, Hush, etc.  Rubber silencers did better for me.
I shoot my Widows at the max (9") brace and it does the most for quieting the bows... so much so that if I have a new string, I can hear when it initially stretches and the bow becomes louder until I shorten up the string to reach the 8 7/8" - 9" brace.
I have read that if you take them apart often, that the little "O" rings on the limb alignment pins get squashed flat and can cause noise.  Folks claim if you put new ones on that it will help with noise.

Try putting some string wax on the limb bolts.

Your setup as far as string and woolpuffs and felt in string grooves sounds good.I have used a similar setup on more than a few widows and they were quiet.I was sooting around 550 to 600 grains. Not much different than your arrows in grain weight
Try running the brace hieght around 9 inches. as mentioned above.make sure limb bolts are snug.

Learn to shoot split finger will go along ways to quieting your widow.Try a 65-70 spined wood arro.9+'' brace.Rubber things that stick on the limbs.Dacron string.Switch to a tab or vice versa.
I do agree w/ Mr Walker on your arro choice.

i will try to make sure i got this right...

first of all - YES this is my FIRE LIMB widow and of course you could borrow it, but i want it back!!  let me try some stuff first - if it doesnt work i will try that string - thanks.

string on limb bolts? what does that mean?

if i back on stiffness i do not get a good bare shaft.

i will raise BH - i dont think i was ever quite that high - worth a shot that is simple.

what felt in limb pockets?  i have had bow with felt, cork, etc but not my widows - can i add felt between limb and riser?

My psa is 54lbs and im shooting a 470gr arrow out of it.  I believe the string is a 8 strand.  Brace is 8 1/4.  Yarn balls and yarn around the string where it would touch the limb.  A little wax in the limb pocket to get rid of creaking. I shoot 3 under and it is realitively quiet for 3 under.

I would think the 75/95s would be stiff even at a 30" draw, possibly causing some noise.
If your not having fun, your doing something wrong!

OK - made some changes....

first of all i was wrong - arrows are 5575 with 200 gr up front. ( was not shooting 7595 - just a report mistake)

i changed the brace height to get over nine - got quieter at 9 1/4" - not quiet, but quieter.

i will move on to some of "foresters'" suggestions

thanks for the help

I am fairly new to traditional archery but my PCH is whisper quiet.  Sounds like a severe over spine issue to me.  75/95 seems way to stiff.  Maybe the arrow is smacking the riser.  Maybe try a 35/55 and 55/75 and play with point weight and brace height.

My pch was probably louder than I liked when I got but I just played with it til I found the right combination.  Mine ended up liking a 150 Heritage arrow with 200 grain point.  Brace height at 8.5 and nock at 1/2 inch.  I also served on some cat whiskers instead of the spider silencers.  I can't believe how quiet mine is now.

Not trying to hijack this post...but Coach, what would Heritage 150 be in Goldtip terms (3555 or 5575)?
Leon Stewart 3 piece TD "Slammer" 62" 54lbs
Black Widow PCHX 60" 53 lbs

Coach Jones

I would assume a 150 is around 500 spine but not for sure.  Could probably look on Carbon Express website.  I am no expert in anyway.  Just giving you what I shoot.  Just seemed like a 75/95 would be way to stiff.  I actually tried shooting a 75/95 GT out of my 63 pound compound, to get weight up, and it was a way to stiff.

Mike,  for other noise than string twang it often helps to put a little string wax on the limb bolts and the locator pins.  It really does help.  Good luck.  Bill

The CE spines about .470 ish. Little stiffer than 3555. And good shaft to boot. Most Lilkly u can use the 150 shafts no problem with 200 grains use the cork material between limbs and riser and check your nock point specially shooting 3 under. Needs to be higher. Use Velcro where string meets limbs. Use your current string. Put silencers in 3 and 4 location. Raise your brace height to max. Listen for noise then raise or lower down. U will find sweet spot no problem.   Always works for me and all my buddy's when shooting BW. Real quiet and make sure all bolts are snug. I feel that the 5575 are to stiff for you even with your long draw. They could be slapping the shelf when u shoot. Bare shaft and paper tuning is one way to find out or use talcum powder to see if any contact. Rotate feathers if needed. Little things like that can fool a guy easily to believe they found the so called perfect arrow. Unless the bare shaft or paper tuning to make sure they have right shaft

You might try a quiver on the bow as well to see if it helps.I have been able to get my Widows quiet.I do shoot split finger.Try limbsavers mounted 4 inches above the fadeouts if your not satisfied. They have made any bow I used them on quieter I have no doubt!

Piratkey

Wax you string very well, with a piece of leather run many times along the string for let penetrate the wax, remove all wax excess with a piece of string, natural bee wax is the best for the d10 string material.
Check you nock,if too much squeezed, this is can produce noise.
