:scared:   Russ, I'm not certain that was God. You might want to check some ID!      :readit:    That sounds like a visit to the booger man.      :help:     Just remember to check your compass before going to any light

Good luck Gregg. Steroids can help. Watch those side effects and rest as much as possible.

I had it last June. Was in hosp. for 4 days, finally Vacomycin IV took care of it. I didn't shoot for almost 3 months. Take care.

well the good news is that the swelling has gone down noticeably.  Now there is only a slight bulge on the point of the elbow itself.  Hopefully the treatment plan will continue to show results.

In the left shoulder once.Healed up a week or so amd took inflamation meds. Came back a short time later. I dropped down near 10 lbs in bow weight and has not came back. Been about 6 years. Good luck on your Solona hunt. You`ll be fine. May consider the less lbs on your bow in the future as you get....older.lolRC

Glad to hear of some improvement. I have never had bursitis but have had tendonitis in both elbows at the same time, so I know the kind of discomfort and the detrimental effects on your archery something like this causes. Keep following the doctor's advice. Maybe it is as simple as you need to drink a better grade of whiskey.

Had it in my left elbow last spring! # bouts of intervenous and 14 days of antbiotic pills took care of it. this is a very serious condition and should not be taken lightly!

Gregg, I have no experience with what you're dealing with.

But from what I saw on another thread, your antlers may grow out crooked this year...!

  :smileystooges:

Seriously, I wish you the best of luck, and rapid healing!

I'm a lot biased, but I would look up a therapist in your area and get a referral.  I would lean toward a Certified Hand Therapist like myself, but any PT or OT that specializes in orthopedics should be able to address the issue and compliment the injections or other adjunt treatments.  If you have any specific questions, pm me.  Good luck brother!

Today was day five of antibiotic injections and I am also halfway through the oral antibiotic treatment.  Showing GREAT signs of improvement.  The swelling is almost gone and the tenderness/pain is not near what it was.  Still some progress to be made, but it appears from the posts on here that I am lucky to be on the milder end of the spectrum.

Good advice on the therapist and I was seriously leaning that way two days ago.  Seems like the tables have turned my way, but if things change by the time the antibiotics are gone that will be my course of action.

Thanks, gang!

Looking good for Solana from where I am sitting now.

Very glad to hear you are responding to the treatment. M aybe I missed it but if you are responding to antibiotics it is more than just bursitis, but also an infection, heed your doctors plan of therapy.
Be looking forward to meeting in Texas.    :campfire:
