Best Classic "D" Shape Longbow Made?
« on: December 04, 2012, 03:58:00 AM »
I am in the market for a classic D shape longbow in the 66" to 68" length and was wondering what bow builder out there makes one of the finest shooting bows in a classic D shape?  Any thoughts or photos would be greatly appreciated!

Dan Toelke has built a reputation primarily with his d/r Whip longbow but his Super Ds are exceptional. They are faster than most and like all Dan's bows are extremely well mannered and quieter than quiet. I like them so much I have ended up shooting them about 90% of the time.

Yep, Dan's Super D for me, but try all of them and you choose which one best fits you.

Northern Mist and Toelke are just 2 of many.....try all you can and the one you shoot well is the best one for you!

Finest I have ever personally shot is the 68" Fox Triple Crown Carbon made by Ron King of Fox Archery in Oregon.  Incredibly smooth and accurate, and his craftsmanship is second to none.

Craig Ekin should have it figured out by now, as does David Miller and Steve Turay. Not a bad bow in the group.

I think Northern Mist. I was checking out another guys Shelton model on Sunday while rabbit hunting. It was beautiful, and silent.

Don't make a final decision without checking out Vince Migliorato's Mohawk bows, especially the Sparrowhawk.
