Needing info on Kansas pronghorns
« on: December 04, 2012, 08:18:00 PM »
Hey everybody, I've been throwing around the idea of hunting some antelope and I figured I would maybe give it a try here at home that way I don't have to spend very much money. Is there anyone who has hunted speed goats in Kansas that could give my some info, thanks

I've been thinking about doing the same thing. I know there is lots of walk in hunting areas out west but i don't know if there open antelope season?  How far west to guys normally go before you get into the antelope?

I think if you split the state into quarters they are in the southwest corner

I've never gone hunting further than an hour away from home and I figured this would be a fun starting point for me. And since they have a different season i wouldn't miss any deer hunting.  I need to contact someone in region 3 in  the kdwpt to find out more info. All the people I've talked to in the kdwpt in my area don't really know anything about the do's and don't of pronghorn hunting.

There are not very animals in the state(I believe there is only an estimated population of around 3,000 animals, could be wrong) but I have seen quite a few in Logan, Wallace and Scott Counties.
