Toekle Lynx or Tall Tines longbow, could someone ....
« on: December 14, 2012, 12:44:00 PM »
Just wondering if some you fellow members have owned or shot both of these... If so, could you please give me the pros and cons of your experience with each bow. Thanks ahead for your time.

I have a Toelke Lynx and it is quiet, Purdue and shoots an arrow where I am looking.  If you want a good review, search Powwow for a post done by Jim Wright...great review

Lynx - Smooth, Quiet, accurate and relatively fast + i like the grip - great bow.

TT- i only shot the recurve but it was smooth and accurate, could not get it as quiet as i like so i traded it.  grip is unique and although it felt good was not really a preferred grip.  Brian is a great guy and i am sure could make a grip to fit.  really would like to try the LB - bet it is quiet.

I have never shot a lynx I am sure they are super nice bows. I do own a Talltines and have another on order all I can say is its a perfect bow for me. I love the feel of the grip and how solid the bow feels during the shot. These days most boyers out there make a sweet bows. One thing I noticed that I do see to many people bring up. I for one like a heavier riser and not a 20lbs bow the normal weight and when I spend the money on a exsotic woods for the bow I want to see the nice wood. Most of these bows the riser is small and you paid x amount for this super fancy wood and you get a sliver of it. The TallTines has a nice sized riser great mass and if you want a bow with Whatcha ma call it wood you get it and you can see it well more of it anyway. That being said I think these guys make great bows and you cant go wrong with them. Good luck I hope this will help

Chad,

Been throught quite a few bows over the years...You need to shoot them both and find out which one speaks to you. Both of them have a different personality IMHO.   I don't feel you can go wrong with either.   I have found that the Toelke Lynx works very well for me.

Fast and most importantly super quiet.  Dan and Jared are great to deal with..

God bless,   Pierre

Shot one of Brian's Tall Tines longbows at Kalamazoo last winter, it was smooth and silent, I had a real hard time leaving without it. A real work of art. I'm a big fan of Dan Toelke's bows and Dan and Jarod are great to work with. My Toelke Lynx, 64" 51@30 is the quietest bow if ever shot, the only sound is the feathers of the arrow brushing the rest as it leaves the bow. It's a personal preference, you can't go wrong with either.

Ive been shooting a Lynx recurve and love it. It's extremely quiet, silky smooth and the grip is absolutely perfect in my opinion. Probably the best all around bow I've ever shot.

Buy used one of each.

Sell both after trying.

Use that $$$ for a custom of your choice.
