DAS Hunter Performance in the field?
« on: December 15, 2012, 09:03:00 AM »
Hi,

I am looking to add a DAS Hunter to my 50# Martin Savannah and 59# Predator Classic.  Befor I start the purchase quest I am hoping to get feedback on how the DAS Hunter performs in the field.

Does any one have any feedback or experiences with hunting with the DAS Hunter?

thanks

Doug

One of the best hunting bows I have ever owned!
I have owned 3 of them, and regretted ever selling them.   :banghead:   Luckily was just able to buy another original Das Master Hunter just last night.

My wife and I both have them from the first and second run of the Gen I risers. IMO, best there is. The ILF connection change can be done in 5 minutes so you have access to as many ILF limbs that can be found. The first year I had it  I killed a black bear and 3 whitetail bucks in NH of all places. Best hunting bow I have owned for many reasons...mainly you have just so many options for limbs and tuning. And just so you know (in case you have trouble finding one) I also have a 17" Dalaa riser with back up limbs and I cannot feel a difference in shooting except for whatever limbs I have on it.  Don't overlook Bob Morrison's new MAX I limbs. Best I have shot.

Bill, I knew you could do a much better job describing them than I could!   :notworthy:

The Dalaa is a great option if you don't turn up an original DAS

Doug: the original or Gen 2 Hunter will always be worth more down the road than whatever you pay for it up front. Dalaa's are all over the place...a real Hunter is very rare and sometimes hard to find....but very easy to sell.
