[IMG]http://i1081photobuck I took my second elk with trad gear this week. I was hunting the coast of Washington in the Olympic mtns. I took a 35 yard shot, hitting it in the right shoulder. The broadhead came out in the crease behind the left leg (pink foam). The elk only went 30-35 yards and was dead in seconds. I have hunted elk my whole life and had never felt the thrilling satisfaction that taking one with a longbow gives you until last year when I got my first longbow kill. I am shooting a Bill Stewart takedown longbow, 59 Lbs. @ 31", full length 2219 Easton Legacys tipped with 160 gr. Woodsman Elites with 32 gr. aluminum adapters, about 700 gr. total wt. Both elk were taken with the same hit at about the same yards with the same results. Compleate broadhead penetration and down in seconds. I love shooting that bow!!!
