Snake skin limbsations - *UPDATED WITH PICS*
« on: December 18, 2012, 04:58:00 PM »
So I was thinking about skinning one of my bows, but all snakes are protected here in aus so I can't exactly go brain one and getting a bow to and from the states takes a bit of time. So... I saw they were a sponsor here and checked them out then searched a few threads, and they actually seem to look pretty nice, has anyone got them on their bows at the moment? How's the finish? Is it properly matte or does it look tacky?
I guess in short, can you recommend them?

For anybody who doesn't know what I'm talking about it's these;    http://www.onestringer.com/index.php?page=mods/Products/itemdetail&itemid=101

Put a pair on a bow 5 years ago they are still in good shape. I am ordering a set for a different bow. They really are easy to put on.

They are a very nice product and I recommend them.  And the price is right.  Don't hesitate to try some out.  Plus they are very good to deal with.

Use them and love them, onestringer changed them a while ago and less gloss on finish. Very nice upgrade. Easy on easy off without messing up the limbs finish. Many snake patterns to choose and I like to match it to complement the riser. Go for it.

If you get some use a little water so you can place and move decal if needed and also get out bubbles if any.Kip

I've had some on 1bow for about 6years now and they've held up well.  They have protected the limbs a couple of times too.  If ya can't have the real thing, they're the next best.     :thumbsup:

I put some on an old Grizzly (copperheads) and they turned out looking good. Durable, too.

Put a set on my Sage, most folks don't know their not real until they feel them. Good folks to deal with too. Try their arrow wraps, many styles to choose from. A+ in my book.

Some on the way now! I'll post pics when it's done as long as South Cox doesn't see them. He would probably have a heart attack if he saw $25 laminations on his beautiful $900 custom Stalker haha.

So got my limbsations the other day, I was originally going to put them on my stalker but it was just too pretty to cover up.

As a result the Deer Master got a purely useless makeover. Here's how it turned out;

Note the classy leather grip which isn't really appropriate for a recurve  but makes it look 20% cooler.

A matte finish with snake textures would have been nice but I think for twenty-five bucks you can't expect to get the world when you buy an atlas.

All in all limbsations are cool. There's been a few threads about them so here's my 2 cents.

That looks good! I may have to do that to my son's Deer Master!
