Wood Arrow Selection Help
«

All-- going to build some wood arrows. I want to shoot those 160 grain snuffers so what spine would you recommend me to get. My set up is a Acadain Tree Stick 50 @ 28. My draw length is 26 1/2 so I think I'm shooting 44-46 Pds. Also Im going to cut the arrows to 28 inch BOP and shoot three 5 inch fletch. Thanks for the help.

Assuming a fast flite string and cut to center, 55-60# or 60-65#. Either will work fine. If you can work with your shaft supplier, something right around 60#, give or take a pound or two would be just peachy. Good luck.

If you use Stu Miller's calculator and have an arrow that flies good out of your bow, you can match up your numbers with woodies and get very good results. Just play with different spines, lengths and point weight until the numbers match with what you are now shooting.

I have the same draw as you and my Hills at 50 lbs. with a 160 gr. STOS likes 60/65 lbs. They also like 55/60. I'm shooting 11 gpp.

"Cut 3/16 past center" you may well need 70#. Get a test kit from Surewood or similar.

I'm with you Bjorn. With 160gr tips and shelf cut -3/16" past center I'd think 65/70's or 70/75's would fly great....test pack! I think I have some 65/70 and 70/75 in the shop just waiting for you.
