Here is what I wrote on the LW:
I am stunned. We lost a GREAT LW'er today. Over the years I have seen a few like Dal leave us. Over on the Trad Gang we lost Barb and on the Widow Wall we lost Scotty to a drunk driver.

The internet has opened the world up to us increasing our community. I guess with the pleasure of that growth we open ourselves up to the pain of a loss.

I will really miss Dal Lowrey and I will pray for him and his family. This hurts.

Rest in peace Brother!

Terry, You think you could post the Pic of Dal on the first  page, on top of the forum for a few day ???? Kind of a rememberance????
Dal was one of the very first guys on the other site that helped me out when I first began. I would have worried most people to death with all the questions I PM'ed him about... But he always seemed to be more then willing to teach me and explain things to me. To me Dal is really what the heart and Soul of Traditional Archery is all about.... Something the other ways of hunting are lacking....
God Bless and keep you in his loving arms.

Life is  a big long  Test, I have a feeling that Dal has passed it in flying colors.
I cant count the times he has answered my questions via E-mail. This one hurts.

       God's Grace to his family.

I never had the pleasure of actually meeting Dal other than through the internet.  The Dakota in my Avatar pic was one he bought from Bob, and I picked up from him about a month after he got it.  The man went through some very nice bows!

My recent hunt on Shiloh Ranch was actually put together by him.  It was supposed to be a "Black Widow" hunt.  Unfortunately he was unable to make the hunt in the physical sense, but I know he was there in spirit...

You will be sorely missed Dal, get after them in the happy hunting ground, and prayers to your family and all of your friends for the loss...

The replies to this thread show the overall appreciation of the trad community of Dal Lowery, and rightly so. I never met him or actually talked to him, but sent a few messages back and forth. I admired his wisdom and willingness to give advise. I also admired how he was not afraid to speak his mind and stand his ground on controversial topics on this site and others. He was a good man.
