Side plate

I am curious,,should we be tuning our arrow and point weight combination so that there is no side plate contact,,or is there always some?

It's always there on the draw, of course, but almost non-existent on the release.  If the arrow is spined right, only the first few inches of the front of the arrow touch the side plate on release.
