even a blind squirrel finds a nut (sheep hunting vid)
« on: December 24, 2012, 12:14:00 AM »
Been reading and lurking for about a year.  I figure it was time to break out and share what I love to do with people who have the same addiction!

About a year ago while I was taking a class at the University I met Liam from Colorado.  We talked but never got full into the trad talk or anything like that.  One day he called me up and said he got his recurve and wanted to shoot.  We shot for about a month or so and then we started talking hunting.  After a few trips to the range Liam was already hooked.  Finally the stars aligned and Liam didnt have work and I was free.  We set out to a popular public hunting area and well...here is the video of how it went!   :)    Hope you all enjoy!

Hunting on Oahu? Or another island?

Asking because I will be moving out there in May of next year. And its never to soon to start looking for good places to put some meat away and feed the neighbors.

An arrow can only be shot by pulling it backward. So when life is dragging you back with difficulties, it means that it's going to launch you into something great.

This was at Pohakuloa Training area on the island of Hawaii (BIG ISLAND).  I believe that Oahu does have areas to shoot goats but I think it is hit and miss...no pun intended hahah

Good work.
I was surprised he got in close with those light coloured pants on but I guess good stalking technique is worth a lot more than camo!

excellent  :clapper:
For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them. And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation.

He actually showed up with a gray shirt and those white pants.  I was lucky to have an extra camo shirt in my truck! These sheep actually go off of movement rather than colors...but the older rams use all their senses.  Always a fun challenge!

Very cool... I didn't realize there was bowhunting there. We were just there for two weeks last winter visiting our on who was doing a residency at the VA hospital in Honolulu. If I had only known.    :)

Great job on the video and congrats on your success!
