Getting some help with bow tuning in SE PA
« on: December 26, 2012, 09:49:00 PM »
Hi gang,

Happy holidays!

Would anyone know of a pro-shop that can assist with the tuning of a traditional bow? I am located in the Philadelphia area, and really want to get tuned right this winter, but I am very hesitant to start cutting wood shafts, etc (besides not being equipped) without having someone take a look.

Any recommendations?  I am more than willing to drive a few hours to get help, if necessary.

Thanks!

No doubt your best bet would be Lancaster Archery. Some of the most knowledgeable and friendly staff and their customer service can't be beat (although you can say that about almost any trad archery shop). Shouldn't be more than an hour from you either, if not a little less.

West Caln Sportman Club (Chester county, pa) has a traditional archery shot on thursday nights, starting 1/17. There is always a wealth of experience and knowledge on hand.

Tim, for some reason I can't reply to your last PM, but I don't think Trevose Archery Club is around any longer.  I'm not from the area, but I've been here for about 15 years and I had never heard of it.  A Google search doesn't yield anything.  It wouldn't be unusual though, as Trevose is pretty developed now.  Though I may not be the best guy to ask - I didn't know about Chris's club in Fort Washington, either!

See you this Sunday!
