String Tracker Doe
« on: December 27, 2012, 08:37:00 AM »
Here is a little different video of a Georgia doe taken using a string tracker. The hit was great but she ran just over 200 yards leaving one of the heaviest blood trails I have seen in some time.

Nicely done!  It's going to be a heck of a job to get all that line properly rewound into the string tracker, though!

That's a cool video. I like how you mounted your phone on your bow. Pretty country over there in Georgia!

That is actually a playsport video camera. It is waterprrof and a good camera for that application.

Good stuff and congrats on the kill.  I just started messing with a ST this week.....think it's going to be a valuable addition to my bow once I figure out the best way to mount it on a riser with no stabilizer hole.

Green, you can buy a strap/tape on stabilizer hole from many on the trad supply companies. I would think that with a small piece of wood and an insert, you could make a nice one.

I'm not sure about other states, but here in Colorado it is illegal to have electronic devices on your bow.

I shoot a 3pc TD longbow so getting one of the strap adapters to fit doesn't work.  A friend of mine here in Tx showed me his setup using elastic and velcro to make a QD mount that sits at the outboard top of the riser window.  Going to try to make one once all the family clears outta here from the holidays.

Pretty cool video.  I can't believe it pulled that much line off cleanly without breaking it off on something.  Congrats on the deer.

I have been contemplating the stringtracker. Thought about it years ago but never tried it. But the other day I talked to a guy that swears by them.
