Chubby Bunnies-
« on: January 04, 2013, 01:06:00 AM »
So I have been working on these for a little while, and actually sent some samples out to a couple of guys to see what they thought, but I finally have them ready-

The Chubby Bunnies are glue on field points, 125 and 145 grain.  They are sized to fit both 11/32" and 23/64" shafts.  They are nickle plated, and laser etched.

The Chubby Bunny field points are designed with a slight bulge in the middle of them.  The bulge does two things, it reduces penetration into the target, and it makes the arrow easier to remove.

Our rabbit population is on the upswing, so when I saw Chubbie Bunnies, I thought that you were going to tell me yours were too.

I have a rabbit hunt coming up. I may have to hive these a try.

With the bulge, will a insert still fit inside?

Very nice!  Any chance of heavier ones (say 160grn) planned for the future?

I have shot them quite a bit, and they penetrate less than the standard field points, also I have measured the "pull" and they are about 25%-40% easier to pull out of targets depending on what kind of target it is.

Chris-the inside is a standard 5° taper, the bulge is only external.

Dave-Thanks for the order!  I will ship them today.

Butchie-No plans yet, I made them to match my Eclipse Broadheads, and I don't make a 160.

I was waiting till you made it public to say anything, but now that you have, I can honestly say these heads are impressive. Took them to our local archery club, grabbed an old foam target and started letting them fly. I was surprized at the limited penetration compared to my standard field points, and what I liked the most was that there was zero target burn on my wood shafts. That is a huge bonus for me. I'm going to take them to a rabbit hunt/shoot this weekend, and let some other guys try them out. You have a winner of an idea with these heads.

How about target damage ?  Beig as they are pretty blunt, do they cause more damage to targets, especially the layered targets ?  Looks like a neat idea.

Blake, not that it's a big deal, just wondering how deep is the taper...3/4", 1"...?

Those look nice, Blake. I will be ordering some so I will be "legal" when I go to Juneau and shoot the Juneau Archery Club's indoor range. For some reason, they don't like regular field points.

If I can make it to Kalamazoo again this year, I will swing by your booth, assuming that you will be there again. Seems like every time I cruised by your booth, you were very busy!
