Ordered some Big Jim Big 3's
« on: January 04, 2013, 11:26:00 PM »
Just ordered a couple of packs of Big Jim's Big 3 broadheads.  Wanting to give them a try.  Anyone have any experience with them?

I think they should work extremely well for turkeys this spring.  Does anyone have any experience with them on deer/hogs/bears?

They are one big and mean looking head. They should do great as long as they tune to your setup.

Be sure to Let us know what you think after you try them.

I'm pretty confident I'll be able to get them to tune.  One of my arrow setups is a 30" AD Trad with 100 gr insert and 200 gr head...Thinking the few grains a standard insert will add when using the Big 3's won't cause any problems with the AD Trads.

Sounds good, I can't wait for you to post some pics of the holes they are going to leave

I really like the looks of a BIG 3 blade head.

Ken, They are a wicked head and should tune just fine as you described bud.

I haven't shot anything with a Big 3, but shot a lot of stuff with big Snuffers and they are the same size...big holes and lots of blood!

A little update.
Got the broadheads in.  They are shooting beautifully on my AD Trads.
They've been a breeze to get scary sharp.  May carry one in my quiver in Georgia in a couple of weeks.  Total arrow weight is 680 gr. Thinking penetration on up to a medium size hog shouldn't be an issue.

I killed a deer with one last year, it makes a good hole. It is like Big Snuffer that is beefed up.

I have put them through big pigs, whitetails, mule deer and an unfortunate Moose has one as a souvenir stuck in his shoulder. Maybe I can get that one back in a couple years.

I will tell you that they will absolutely ruin a turkeys day! I have shot 3 turkeys with them. Tore one up so bad I'm having it mounted with the arrow in the bird.

thanks, bigjim
