Reminds me of the time I opened up a dead pilot snake I found in Great Falls. Had a couple-three birds in its gut. It had raided a bluebird box, and died of I-don't-know-what.
The snake was almost as long as yours, but not nearly as exciting. What I remember most was the smell. Gagged this maggot right out, and I have taken apart lots of road kill! Snakes don't smell good, inside always and outside when they are alarmed, part of what gives us a visceral aversion to them, I guess.
Yeah, I wish there were a three dimensional memory of the ominous grandeur of that snake, it certainly lived up to its potential and was a very successful member of its species. But I understand.
