Tops of the longbow class
« on: January 05, 2013, 10:45:00 PM »
For the longbow guys out there...please give me your favorite bow for each of the following categories.  Obviously, you may have a different answer for each question.

What's the quietest longbow you've shot?

What's the smoothest longbow you've shot?

What longbow you've shot has had the least amount of handshock?

Thanks.  I truly trust the opinions of the members here.  I'm doing research for my next bow to try, and your answers help me a great deal.
Oh, and it's okay if you want to answer a question as a tie or with an honorable mention for something other than your first choice.
Ken Adkins

Never question a man's choice in bows or the quality of an animal he kills.  He is the only one who has to be satisfied with either of those choices.

The quietest bow is probably my 21st Street Chinook
but that won't help you because the man who built it doesn't make them any more.

My smoothest bow is my Great Northern Bushbow

Least amount of hand shock is either the Chinook or Bushbow

Cari-Bow fits the bill on all 3 for me.Problem with this question is that there are so many GREAT bowyers or should I say artists out there building bows.

Smooth, quiet, and dead in the hand describes my Big Jim Buffalo. It's no slouch on speed either.

You have to shoot a griffin to understand but they exceedingly possess all of the characters you mention. John mccullough is an artist and a master of physics when it comes to bow building.

My Shrew Hill fits the bill you describe, plus light in the hand and quick as best a Hill style bow can be.
