Nick ready for action

Daisy at the end of the day...

Mike...it was great hunting with you and your sons today, and it absolutely made my day tagging along with Nick. That boy doesn't have any quit in him. He ignored hot chocolate and hot dogs and stuck with Daisy and I all day.

He absolutely impressed me with his polite conversation, and his knowledge and observations in the woods. "Wouldn't this be a great place for a deer blind?" "Look, a buck rub". And when he quivered his arrow before we charged up a steep berm after Daisy, I knew that he was paying attention to his Fathers lessons. Be proud of your boys Mike, you are doing a great job!!

You gotta love a tired beagle and pile of rabbits after a long day!

Thank you for the compliment Roger.  As a father yourself, you understand how good that is to hear.  All Nick and Luke talked about till they fell asleep was how cool it was to see Daisy smell and chase a rabbit.  The pleasure was all ours, and we are looking forward to doing it again.  Just let us know when.

This is Moose and me reading a Tom Kidwell book just before hunting season started. She's 2 and absolutely loves to hunt, just not enough rabbits around to get her in tune just yet. We're working on it though.

Hopewell Tom

We're on our second one, first guy was 14 yrs. on passing, second guy is a much different. dog. REAL hunter. very aggressive with much stick-to-itiveness. More vocal than the first one.
GREAT family pet and death on any mouse that gets into our old farmhouse, much better than the cat.

Wow, this is awesome! Had to give up my beagles a few years ago due to moving. Having grown up with bird dogs and beagles, this brings back memories. As I read this I have this great desire to get a beagle pup again. Now to try and figure out how to approach my wife with the idea???  :dunno:

Beagles certainly keep life interesting.  They sure are the cutest pups going.

Someday we are going to be around for one of Daisy's adventures, although I don't know if I can guarantee Nick like commitment out of Daniel

Now all that has to be done. Heat up some oil, nothing better than deep fried rabbit. Just cant beat hunting bunnies with a beagle.

I love watching my Dads beagles run rabbits. Dad had told my 7yr old brother if it wasn't gonna do anything he was gonna give to someone who wants a house dog and my brother told Dad you better not. only 30 minutes later she jumped a rabbit and trailed until it went in a hole. Then she ran two more within 30 more minutes. It was like she had been doing for years. We have trying to get her to run with other two with no luck. They are the best dogs and great pets. I've never in my life saw a mean beagle.
