It is a pretty wood.  Liking the sealskin a lot, bought several squares from sticshooter here.  Should have enough to outlast me!

Eric, I may be wrong but I think the black and the red stripes in your riser are phenolic.

I thought he was referring to the limb riser sections being no phenolic, guess he's talkin about the vintage Widows?

I have 3 widows without phenolic in them I prefer no phenolic the last one I bought does not have the red or white stripes. I have a SAX Bocote, CHX Kingwood and a CHX Tiger Myrtle I do not have a photo account any were or I would post pics of the bows. My CHX Tiger Myrtle widow with macaser ebony riser that has no red or white is something to look at.     Widow

The black and red stripes are fiberglass. The phenolic is in the limb butts and on the heel of the grip.

Sorry guys I should have clarified...no black in the butts or wedges.   The red and black in the stripe is fiberglass.  Beautiful bow Eric...I just love the wood wedge look.
Keep em coming.

I think that is the only real difference. I like the look better too.

Talked to Toby on Friday and he said the only difference is just overall weight and it is easier to hit the weight right on and match limbs later.

Eric, that Kingwood is just beautiful. My PSAX Kingwood is supposed to ship next week, hope the wood is as nice as yours!
