The contents of the arrow barrel changes over time but it always has lots of barred wild turkey feathers in it. There's no better arrow fletching on earth in my opinion. The only downfall I can find is they aren't very visible in flight.
 
As for durability. Turkeys are tough and so are their feathers.

i got these from stringstretcher a few yrs ago.
 
they do seem to hold up better than comercially made feathers nowadays.

 TRAP, i like that arrow barrel!!..thats cool!

Thanks Brad,  I love those arrows in your first pic.  That Robin Egg blue crown is really sharp on arrows.  Awesome work my friend.

I just finished up a few last night for the upcoming turkey season.  Kinda non traditional but they turned out okay.
