Review of the new Sasquatch
« on: January 10, 2013, 10:46:00 PM »
I'm not sure how many of you guys have been following my other thread reflections of Sasquatch. But this is the review.

I received my new bow today in the mail. As luck would have it my wife had just gotten home from work and wanted to go shoot.

So,
Moving on
Fit and finish is second to none. There is absolutely no wiggle or slop the way the limbs mount to the riser.

These were made so exact they mount on the pins only one way. There is no play at all

Before the bow arrived Kirk had told me to make sure I had a saddle stringer for this bow.

I'm glad I did. With Kirks design there is quite a bit of arch at the tips. I don't thing I would have been able to string the bow with a normal tip stringer

I was really surprised amount the amount of force needed to pull the limbs for stringing. I've strung a lot of bows some up to 80# and not had to pull that hard.

This was somewhat worrisome until I shot his baby

The initial draw on this bow  was like butter.

I has to let down and thing about it. I have been shooting a 48# long bow.
This now felt like a lighter draw. I ordered  57#
What the heck did Kirk do?

Put it on the bow scale yep  exactly 57

Ok time to put a few through this baby

I'm shooting Heritage 250's cut at 29"
175g field tips

Redraw the bow again like butter.

DAM this bow is fast. Absolutely no hand shock nothing , dead in the hand.

How fast is this bow?

I'm sworn to secrecy

But I can tell ya there were a couple of wheelie bows at the range and my arrows were beetling them.

No BS

Had em stopping to look

Now how accurate is this bow?

I've heard that Kirks bows shoot where ya look its true.

This bow was delivered tuned. How tuned?

Kirk called me a few days ago and asked how far I cant my bow.

When I started shooting I noticed my arrows hitting 2 inches to the left. Ok I figured I just need to tune arrows.

Wrong. I was holding the now upright. When I canted to 1:00 like I told Kirk I normally shoot the arrows sucked right into the bulls eye.

I started at 10 yards to get the feel of the bow then jumped out to 20 yards.

Now I'm going to post you guys some pictures. Remember I just got this bow. I've maybe taken  40 shots through it

This is one of the first groups at 20 yards

Something I had not planned on was how well the maple and myrtle woods matched

Pretty cool

This is definitely a West Coast bow both the woods grow wild here
