How neat! You'd better be careful about the deer though, I heard of a kid who was killed by a deer when he was feeding it. He made it made it mad.

We were in Poccosin lakes nwr when we had a yearling walk out of the woods into the logging path about 100yds ahead. At first i started a stalk on her but realized how young she was.....then i ceased my hunting stalk and began a"fun" stalk. I got within 10 yds. and realized she didnt care if i was there or not. I got down on my knees and she walked to me and licked my hand. No way could i shoot at this deer.....kinda humbling actually.
Also had possum come up to me in a deerblind, stood up on his hind legs and tried to climb my leg....%&$#@%$@**&....he died!

Thanks for the kind words.I don't think he was raised by anyone,because I saw a doe with two fawns early this year in the garden.I just figured he was one of the fawns since I have never had a problem with deer in the garden before.Another note,after touching the deer I had this gummy stuff on my hands like handling a leather coller on an old coon dog type gummy.When I went to wash my hands I had to smell them for some strange reason,and there was absolutly no odor what so ever.

Hi all,
That's awesome! I don't want to hijack this thread but a similar thing happened to us last year. We had 3 button bucks show up one day behind my brother-in-law's house he was building. The mother was killed by a car a couple of houses down. They let us pet, feed even head butt with them. Only one was skiddish, the other two seemed like they had no fear. It was awesome for the kids! They only hung around for a couple of weeks then we started seeing them off in the fields with other deer. We heard that one of them got hit by a car on another road about a month later. Here's some pics (I hope)

Stephen , he is not a fawn. I believe he would still have spots and that would be a big fawn. Ours here in NY weigh no more than 50#s or so right now and when season rolls around about 75#s or so tops. Shawn

This little button buck was raised by a couple in town that 'found' him after his mother 'disappeared'. He would make daily travels through our yard to the edge of town (1/2 mile) and hang with the wild deer and then go back home. His name was Buck-Buck and he became a real nuisance by raiding the gardens and flower beds along his route.

I think what you have here is a 1/2 tame deer. My brother-in-law had one too. Once they get 2 1/2 years old they become very dangerous. My brother-in-law suffered several stitches when "little bucky" became a fork horn. Be careful and good luck.
