Cody,
I had the pleasure of knowing Jay for a number of years, he was one classy guy to sum it up.
I first met him at the North American longbow Safari 25 years ago and had the pleasure of shooting arrows with him and watched him chopping out an Osage bow with a hatchet he was instrumental in my interest in traditional archery, it is hard to put into words but all I can say is, my admeration for Jay is very special.
Regards, Bert  :notworthy:

Cody,

There is a good article from Doug Borland that was reprinted in the Best of Traditional Bowhunter book. That might be a good place to start.

Read some of his books.  They are awesome reads and tell a lot about the man.

I'd second the books idea...they are all classics.   Jay inspired me most into primitive archery, and ethics of the chase when there were not too many taking his road.  He was a true ambassador and an example for many of us.

heck you can call Doug at the Russian American trading post (might be russian american company cant remember now, I'm questioning myself ugg) in Sitka, though he spends time in Juneau at his other store you should be able to catch him sometime.

Do you have all 4 of his books or the magazine him and Doug put out?
