Bamabows tribute longbow
« on: January 13, 2013, 10:09:00 AM »
Just recieved new bow from Nate at Bamabows. He is a sponsor here. My original desire was for one of his royal expi. Lol somehow we got to talking and mentioned a new design he was working on. Being very new to trad, i went with it. This is the product. Tribute model, 68" 57#@25. My draw was changing being new to archery, now its at 27. Walnut limbs 4 lams, osage riser, bacote veneers, buffalo horn tips under black&tan phenolics and black/tan/black overlay. Straight grip. This is a t/d model. The bow is beautiful. My finger tips are sore... :-)

Dont know how to post pics from my tablet  :(

Mike,
If you have a photobucket account that's how you do it. On your tablet download the photobucket app, re-size all to 640 (large) and copy paste the IMG link

The pics that were sent were of a smaller size so when I tried to get them to a true 640 they were grainy so I left them smaller for clarity sakes

Thanks guys for your help. Brianlocal3 is going to post them for me. I emailed to him the pix.
As for a review of this bow all i can say is that im sure i cant say enough. I have very limited experience with longbows. My first bow was a fred bear montana. Second was a c&n that i bought from brianlocal3. So maybe those of you that know these bows can relate as to what im saying.
This bow from nate is smooth to the draw. I have a 27" draw. Nate says this bow can go over 30"draw with no problem. I shoot 3u &split. I can not tell that this is a take down bow. It feels as a one piece bow. The fit and finish of this bow is a real beaut. Light in the hand, seems balanced.
Im still trying to find the right arrows for this bow. Shooting easton legacy 29" with 300 up front. Seems to be working well. It likes heavy arrows. I tried lighter ones and it doesnt like em.
There is a twang that im not used to, but i feel as with more tuning this will dissappear. No hand shock, no vibration of teeth, no sore elbow. I did have a sore shoulder but thats me. It has a straight grip. I learned that i should use the heel of my hand when drawing and not the web of my thumb..
My review of this bow im sure does it no justice. Ima total newb learning from friends, trad gang and y..tubeFor a more in depth you all can check out his site. Nate is a top notch guy.
Hopefully this helps

Mike

The "Tribute" is Hill design type longbow hence the name! I have him working on one for me but he won't release the details, I gave him a nice chunk of Black Locust for the riser and the rest is going to be made out of all USA woods! I gave him the length and poundage, I just told Nate to work his magic! After seeing your bow I can't wait to see what he builds me! I have 2 Bama Expis which I love but I really want another D-Style! Congrats that bow is a beaut for sure!

Thanks Nate is a genuine nice guy, you know he's only about 30yrs old! What a talent for such a young guy I have got to know him quite well in the last couple of years, my son (LimbLover) and him both have young kids and have become good friends! Ya the anticipation is, he is real crafty that way!

Gorgeous bow Lineman!  I love the classic lines of the Tribute. It will definetly go on my someday list. Two weeks ago I got my first traditional bow in 35 years from Nate. After 20+ years shooting, competing and selling compound bows, I lost "the fire." I moved to Idaho two years ago, and had not even taken my compound bows out of storage. A couple months ago I made the decision to return to the basics of my childhood. I spent the next two months (4-5 hrs) a night tearing through traditional websites and forums. As they say, "word of mouth advertising is the best" and Bamabows was the clear winner. Since receiving my bow from Nate, I have been shooting for one to two hours every night . FIRE RE-IGNITED!  Now the problem is which of Nate's bow do I save up for next?     :)
Softly, quietly she calls me back to the wilderness...
