"Sat Cong" is my current go to bow. It reminds me of days gone by.

Nope.  Not sure why not.  I have names for both my flintlock rifle and fowler but never came up with a name for any of my bows.

I don't think they'd come if I called them, anyway.     :archer:

Great thread... Now I think I will name my bows upon their first whitetail kill.  My go to huntin bow is a JD Berry Argos... I have had my first close encoutner and near-kill(actually a miss- LOL) this year and I hope that next year the winds will be with me.  If so, then I'll give the bow a proper name.

I'm going to name my next bow "No More Miss's"

It'll have a dual meaning..hence the way "Miss's" is spelled...

1: I hope all my misses will have been used up by the time the new bow arrives.   ;)

and

2: If I order another bow...I won't have a wife anymore.   :biglaugh:
In the wind, he's still alive...

This is a fun one. You would not believe some of names people have had me write on their bows. Some that come to mind are: Buck Down, Morning Wood, Keeper, Blondy, Death Master, Mo Money, Meat Stick. These are just the ones that come to mind.

Do you all name your bows?
I have 2 at the moment.

What do you call yours & why?

Ok you didn't say why you named your bows Fairy and Growth. Is the fairy bow kinda limp wristed?

OK - go easy, I'm female !!

Erm, well I have a Centaur bow on order and as I have been shooting my Arcus quite happily it dawned on me that I should up my poundage ready for some serious stuff next January. The Arcus is 35#@28.
I now have a Samick 50#@28 that I'm pulling 44# at my draw.
I named the Arcus "Fairy" as I feel like a fairy pulling it compared to the Samick flatbow that I called "Growth" coz I'm growing into it!

Would be interesting to see what the female archers on here are pulling. Maybe I will start another topic as I know you have minimums for hunting.

I always call my bows by the make or model.  One of my hunting partners named my Robertson Mystical "Killin Styk".  This came after 6 or 7 hunting trips in a row that I took a deer with it.

"Pua'a Kane" - Hawaiian for 'wild boar'. The first big game killed with that longbow.

I name mine after my favorite hunting places.  For example the piece of property I shot my first deer on or the mountain I go elk hunting on each year.

Out of hundreds of bows I have owned only one has a name! My triple carbon black and white ebony centaur! Her name is smoke'em! And she sure does smoke an arrow!
