Kenny, I hope to find more of the big guys. We still have a lot of snow. Seems like spring is never going to get here.

B.glass the only reason I do is cause I put a lot of time, money and work into keeping deer alive and on our ground. Around us the hunting isn't great. We don't shoot a buck unless it's over 5 years old. I didn't kill a buck with my bow last year but I passed a lot of great bucks and I enjoyed that more than killing one. You see a lot more of nature when you don't shoot the first deer that walks by. I know some people don't agree with hunting that way and I understand that. Me, I'd rather be hunting then setting around watch football.

Travis,
I wish I had enough land to keep the deer on, but every one I pass up ends up dead on next farm some direction. One about 20 minutes later after I refused to shoot no matter what he offered for 5 minutes!!
I still like to hunt for older bucks, but they don't have to be 5 to suit me anymore. Seems about 3 - 4 is bout as long as they make it with the pressure we have here. The rut during gun don't help a dang bit either....

Kenny, I have the same problem. It's just one of those things that happens. What really gets me is when our neighbor complains cause they don't have any big bucks. They kill 8 bucks off there ground every year, everyone of them have been young except for the one they poached off ours.
If you can get a deer to 3 years old most places your doing good. I'm sure there are places that people just happy to see a buck. Our rifle season is during the rut as well.

I got out yesterday and all I got for my effort was poked in the eye with a twig and poked in the thumb with a thorn! I did see some cool rubs, scrapes and trails. Gave me some ideas for next year!

Nice little pile of brown and white, elk and mulie sheds. Just getting started here, the snow is mostly gone. The elk are not quite done shedding yet though. Seeing quite a few bulls with both yet.

I wish they would shed already. Saw 5 bulls this morning, all 5 had both antlers yet.
