Friday night fun shoot at Town Hall
« on: January 20, 2013, 06:03:00 PM »
Well everyone. We had our first Friday Night fun shoot of the year. Jack, Monty and the gang at Town Hall hold a competition for us Traditional shooters once a month from January thru March and Friday was the first of 2013.  First off id like to say thanks for them staying open past business hours to hold this for us all, as it is a fantastic time filled with good food, good shooting and great people.

A little sampling of the food that some of the participants brought for our enjoyment.

some warm ups

a nice collection of sticks

my good buddy and mentor Mr. Charly Mundy

some serious thinking going on here.

they didn't make it easy on us

I did not fair very well friday night. I have a laundry list of excuses but I'm not sure I can type that much. LOL. Our very own BigStriper took first in Longbow as he usually does way to go Kurt. Mr. Charlie Mundy took second and Im not sure of third at the moment.
Dennis took first in recurve.  Mrs. Marla won the womens division.
first in Longbow was a 353 out of 400 and 350 won the Recurve. I believe Mrs. Marla shot a 351 for the womens.

I can not wait until next month for some more fun, food, and great company

Is that an archery shop or an actual Town Hall?
Where abouts in Illinois are you?  I'm near Champaign/Urbana.

Burnsie- its an actual archery shop. The name is Town Hall. It has a pretty sizable group of traditional shooters that shoot there. Unfortunately I had to work so didnt get to make it.

Brian- do you know when the next one is? I havent checked their website yet.

Pat,
The next one is Feb 22nd.
Burnsie,
its an archery shop like Pat mentioned.  I am in Collinsville, IL which is just east of St. Louis,MO, so about 35-40 min from the shop. You are about 2 hours north of us.

Boy, that sure looks like fun!  I remember shoots like that down in Iowa City, Ia put on by the Whitetail Bowmen.  Unfortunately that was forty years ago!  Not many traditional archers up here in northern Iowa.

I wish we had a shop like that here especially one that has trad equipment and a nice indoor range like that.
