60" "Dynasty" Recurve... Any Information/History???
« on: January 24, 2013, 01:32:00 PM »
With all you guys shooting fish you have had my juices flowing to get out and shoot some too...  I've been looking for a bow to use for quite a while as I really don't want to abuse my customs...  Found this one yesterday ($'s in the mail... awaiting arrival), older bow, comfortable weight for me.  It is made by Dynasty Bows out of Colon, MI by Charles Mangold.  I've done a search but didn't find much on him, other then he used to advertise through TBM.  I like the looks of the geometry, reminds me a lot of the Bear Grizzly only it is 60".  The Brace height looks low in the picture, but it hasn't been shot much.  I'm guessing it is in the 15 year old range, but it appears to be in great shape.  I got it for a reasonable amount, and should work out well for what I'm wanting to do with it.  Thinking Great Northern "Gadget Adaptor" with an AMS Reel.

If you know anything of the bow or the Bowyer, I'd appreciate any information you could pass along...

Jeff, owned a couple of Dynasty TD recurves a few years ago. One of the fastest bows I've ever shot. Workmanship very good. Chuck worked with Harold Groves and tried to buy his bowbuilding business but that didn't work out. Although the bow was a screamer, limbs not very stable and twisted easily.   Denny Sturgis Sr

Very nice! Looks like a clone of the bear Kodiak hunter but with better looking limbs. How much did you pay and did your get to shoot it yet?
