Houma is going to be swampy. It's one of the southernmost towns in the state. More than likely you will be traveling to the camp by boat.

They do have decent deer hunting. Not the best area in the state though. It won't be hunting in the woods like you are used to.

Bowfishing is pretty big down here. People have boats rigged up specifically for it.

BOHO, That will be the 1st thing I pack.

I saw the pictures of the camp and it is on the water. Some of the pictures showed some pretty good size fish that they caught over the years.
Looks like it will be a good time.

You will have fun no doubt and probably eat well!  Maybe not best deer hunting ever.  They've got strange early ruts down there due to biology and flooding.  Regular fishing for reds is a blast in the fall.  Also have duck hunting.  Enjoy.

Oh and make sure you look into those 1 day licenses for deer (all inclusive).  You can get more than 1 for days hunting.  If you are only going to hunt 3-4 days its cheaper than regular NR.

I'm not in area, heck you are closer to s miss, prolly 4 to 5 hrs from me. There is a big trad group called artac In the baton rouge area.   Think daily nr deer is either 32 or 36, but on lwdf website.
