Bowyer's integrity
« on: January 29, 2013, 10:13:00 AM »
I wanted to express my thanks to Steve Turay at Northern Mist and let you all know that integrity is not a lost virtue. I gave Steve my Baraga last year at the K-zoo Expo and asked him if he could do a weight reduction on it.He said he thought he could reduce it #5. During the course of the year, Steve was swamped with orders and in a phone conversation with him I assured him I was not bowless for the upcoming deer season because I also own one of his Whisper's.Long story short, I told Steve I would pick up my bow at this years Expo. When I went to his booth, he handed me my Baraga in like new condition and said," No charge, Ron. I had this bow way too long. Thank you for your patience." Thank you, Steve, for integrity.

Steve Turay is a total class act. I have a bow on order from him myself. He makes some of the best, for sure.

Doesn't surprise me one bit. For many years I shared a campfire at the Michigan Traditional Bowhunters Shoot in Grayling, MI with Steve and he's also been to the Shrewhaven Lodge deer camp.  He's as good as it gets.

I've only talked to Steve on the phone but I can see him doing that. I look forward to meeting him. I have one of his Sheltons and another on order. He builds a sweet bow for sure.

Talked to Steve for quite awhile at Kzoo and ended up ordering a new Shelton from him.  I was admiring his bows and he asked if I wanted him to order one up.  I told him I hadn't come prepared to purchase a bow or put a down payment on one, I'd need to wait and see how my tax return came out.  He said he didn't need a down payment, he'd just take my order and let me know when he was starting my bow in about 6 months.  That sounded good to me, now I can't wait to get it!
