Trad shooters in Fl/S GA
« on: January 30, 2013, 05:55:00 PM »
I didn't get much response in the "Florida" sub forum, so I'll try here.

I recently shot with TBOF in Florida for a charity shoot, Super fun with tons of fine folks. I understand its a LOT of HARD work to organize and manage events like they put on.

I've found one other club/park that puts on "trad shoot" all through out the year.

Just curious if any one else knows of some (anywhere) in Florida or even south GA that does the same thing. I'd be willing to drive a few hours or more for the right event. Or heck, even if we got a few guys and gals on here to meet up and pitch in a few 3D targets at someones property to hold a little get together to shoot.

All I know is since the last shoot I did, I'm ate up and all I want to do is go shoot with others on a course like the one I did...

Any input is welcome or thoughts... Just wanted to see if there are others wanting to do the same?

Thanks
Jake

I couldn't make the charity shoot, but I am down for a shoot whenever I can work it in.  In spring a summer they do a 3D shoot near wildwood.  It's called the "longhammock" shoot.  I think they go every week...where in FL are you?

Tallahassee Bowhunter's Association does shoots every so often and have a nice 3D range here in Tallahassee.  They have a little website.

I was at the TBOF Charity shoot too.  SOOO much fun.  Also in S. GA there is the Horsecreek trad shooting club, try googling that too.

Gringol,

I'm in Vero beach currently, but will be moving to crescent city, fl. I have no problem driving, possibly 3, maybe 3.5 hours at most to go to a shoot. I'm familiar with wildwood and will look into that shoot, thanks.

Nineworlds,
I was the "new guy", I was wearing a white shirt with blue jeans, and had a mesh tan/brown ball cap. I was with my buddy in a FSU T shirt (all red). We shot with Mel, Ron, and Morgan.

I've seen the schedule for horsecreek and have them wrote down in my calender, I will do my best to make a couple of those shoots this year.

Tallahassee looked pretty neat, but also looked like you had t pay for a member fee?

Thanks guys

Cool beans.  I met and talked with Morgan a while.  I think I remember you.  I was the big young fella with the "NAVY" ball cap and the gray plaid shirt shooting a Leon Steward takedown LB.

It's true Tally does have a membership, but for their shoots I'm not sure you need one.  Best idea is to contact Richard Mann, he's one of the officers and also has a proshop in town "Tallahassee Archery Center".  Super nice guy.

10 4, Thanks partner.

yea I remeber seeing you, didn't get a chance to meet everyone. Plus, I'm new to trad shooting and TBOF so my buddy and I were just trying to stay out of the way... Thats when Mel and her gang invited us to shoot with them.

I'll check out their shoots, I'm sure I'll make a few of their shoots. they're super fun...

We have a trad shoot here in jax every month. But with conflicting fire department schedule I don't make all of them.
