I know that my Kanati performs very close to the Predator recurves that I have owned. I mean VERY close! Like within just 3-4 fps. And, yes, I have a very accurate chronograph. And I used the same arrow in each bow and the Predator was just one pound less draw weight so both setups were almost exactly the same.

I have always been a recurve shooter and I bought some of Morrison's max1 limbs but waiting on a gen 3 riser. My other bow is a A&H ACS CX.

In the performance department, I think you get to look at Bigfoot bows and A&H, form what I read, there is a lot of performance in these bows... But I never tried one of either...
I love my Hill style LB, but I'm sure that they are faster bows out there... But non better shooters!

I am surprised no one has yet mentioned a Holm-Made Osprey. Great price on a great bow that is very fast, light, etc. Chad Holm can add a BowBolt to make it a 2-piece that is practically indistinguishable from a 1-piece except that it can be taken apart for travel. I love Shrew bows, and Gregg Coffey also makes his line of Javaman bows, but they aren't known for the speed you seem to be after. Same thing with a number of wonderful longbows that sacrifice a bit of speed for other great qualities. Don't get too worked up over your quest for speed -- none of our stick bows are all that fast compared to compounds, but they make up for more modest velocities in many other ways! There are many good bows listed here. Shoot as many different bows as you can get your hands on and decide what works best for you. Speed doesn't kill -- accurate shooting does!

That's impressive. The predator is also about 5-7 fps faster than other recurves. Which means the kanati is right up there in performance. Which one can you shoot more accurately?

I shot both bows equally the same in accuracy. I just prefer the light mass weight of the Kanati for hunting.

Check my signature below for specs and note that I have a relatively short draw length and I use fairly heavy arrows for the amount of draw weight that I shoot.

You'll have a tough time beating a Flatliner for smooth shooting and performance....9gpp , 195 fps

Now we are seeing some real numbers. 195 at 9 gpp ain't too shabby. That is just right up there in the real world of bows that aren't hot rods made for s special contest.

Nottttttttttttttttttt./ I would bet that the Flatliner is the hottest D shaped longbow out there/. By a long ways with those numbers.

The flatliner looks interesting. What is the limb make up of the bow that gets 195 fps at 9 GPP and what would that bow get at 10 GPP?

I made the switch 6 or 7 years ago. Was shooting a couple of Black Widow recurves, carbons, etc. Bought a Hill Wesely Special, cedar arrows, and have never enjoyed shooting so much. It took a little time to learn to shoot them, but once I did nothing else felt right except a hill stlyle bow. After 35 years of shooting and hunting with a bow, it was like finding the missing piece of the puzzle.
