Certain longbows are designed to either not be cut in at all, or in other cases not be cut in past the center. Certain tournaments have rules stating that longbows must not be cut in past a certain point in order to enter that category. If you get used to shooting such a longbow, it is difficult to switch over to a recurve cut past centershot, because it seems like one or the other is not hitting where you're looking. Eventually your brain makes the switch, but I wouldn't want to be switching back and forth every day, whereas I have a number of recurves and longbows that are cut past centershot and I can switch back and forth among them without any problems.
