DAS setups and Pictures
« on: February 05, 2013, 06:27:00 PM »
Hey gang!

My pops is in the market for a DAS Dalaa.

Wondering what your setups are, any extras that you love on the bow, any pictures of it all tricked out!!

Trying to decide whether to go used or new.

Thanks for the info!

Matt

Here is my rig. Das Gen1 riser (I'm now shooting a Gen 2 riser) with TT Extreme BF limbs.

A little in the field action (Win&Win RCX100 limbs)

Looks great Alan. Maybe one day I'll get ahold of a master riser, until then I'll keep at it with the ole bronze dalaa.

Can someone give me the history in the risers?

I hear a lot about Gen 1/ Gen 2 / hunter / And then Dalaa.

What is the timeline / history on the different risers.

Thanks guys, and great pics!!!

Here is another one that has passed through my hands. Gen 2 riser with Winex limbs in original DAS camo. I just love the look of these limbs.

How about one with camo dipped limbs??   :p

Can you tell I like these bows??

Here's my wife with her DAS Gen I riser with Morrison MAX I super short limbs. She shot Winex for about 8 years and I was able to talk her into trying Bob's limbs. I had them on a loaner basis and she wouldn't let me send them back. I now have the same limbs on my bow. Fast, quiet, stable. Even though they are on DAS risers I also have a Dalaa and in terms of performance I cannot tell the difference unless I change limbs. Don't let the DAS risers throw you, they are every bit as good as the original DAS risers. Choice of limbs is where it is at.

Just this week I put an EFA five arrow quiver with the wing back on it and she says it shoots just the same. Most bow quivers require retuning or some sort. The EFA didn't.

Peckerwood, I really like the elite, I've always wanted one of those.

Here's my current Dalaa setup, 17" riser with a grip that I got off of an early DAS master prototype riser, shelf "bump" has been milled off for fetching clearance, Shorty plunger with stick on flipper rest. Limbs are 45# longs that are from 3rivers, call me crazy, but I actually prefer these over a pair of winex that I previously owned. I don't think you can go wrong with these bows. I do wish the dalaa had the weight system featured in the master risers, I prefer a rather heavy bow, ithelps me hold still, and I need all the help I can get!

Here's a small doe shot from almost directly underneath me.

I have a Gen2 with the Max-1 medium limbs.  Did you compare the medium to short limbs?

Those Max-1 limbs are amazing....  I can see why your wife did not let you send them back.

I tried the medium limbs but that gave me a 60" bow. I draw 28" on a good day and the 60" bow would have been great for a longer draw..say 30" or so and I could tell from pulling hers at 56" and the 60" limbs that I was not getting the benefit of the "let off" and additional performance. So I now have super shorts on mine. Love them. Here's mine with some original Trebark camo on it.

I converted a Hoyt compound riser to DAS. I have a couple limbs on the way for it. I'll post pics when the limbs get here.

Here's a Daala I put together a while back. It was to be the ultimate hunting machine. Defiantly was a supreme shooter and even put some meat on the table with it, but the lure of the wooden bow was too much for me so off she went to someone else.
I'd recommend one to anyone. Very versatile, well thought out bow design and when properly set up, very deadly.
