Best Quiver for Bear Take-Down
« on: February 05, 2013, 07:24:00 PM »
I have just ordered a new bubinga B riser and #3 limbs this week and I am trying to figure what bow quiver works the best on the Bear Take-Down, especially on the longer B riser.

Thanks,

Paul

Great Northern bolt on is what I use and think that it is the best.  Had one of the Bear/Delta quivers originally and gave it away.  The GN quiver was much better.

dino,

How are you attaching a gn bolt on to a Bear Takedown? No limb bolts, Unless it is a side mount and the bow has inserts. My Bear Type 1 does not have inserts and neither does the Supreme I have coming. A Great Northern strap on or Thunderhorn BOA will be going on both of those as I am not about to drill holes in them for inserts.

I use a side mount of my own design patterned after a Selway. Selway side mount would work well if your bow is tapped for it.  Otherwise, Danny has some good suggestions.

Great northern work best.
Either side mount or rubber straps.

Danny,
Its the bolt on that uses the 1/4"x20 quiver bushings installed in the riser (GN calls it a side mount quiver) I have a 2001? A Handle that came with quiver bushings installed.  I wouldn't be drilling a Type 1 either.  :scared:

A Bear 4-arrow with the spring arm top and lower bracket is pretty classic. You can find them up for auction party often.
A great option is the bighorn quiver from cutting edge. I have one on each of two of my Bear TD bows and they are great. If you need a contact for the bighorn, let me know.

I took my GFA quiver and changed the brackets from the straps to the new bear bolt on brackets and love it.

Old thread, I know, but am wondering if this is still the consensus as to the best quiver options for a Bear takedown recurve?
Also, which of the sponsors handle these quivers?
Thanks.

Kevin, we have a really solid, quiet option outside of the side mount. Our Longbow quick detach filed out a little fits really snug right above the latch.
All we have to decide is what to do with the time given to us.

Great northern side mount if it has the bushings (or you're willing to drill and install yourself).

If it has the side mount bushings installed... I'd go with the GN side mount quiver!!! I had a Delta quiver, and did not like it at all! Got the GN and it's been on there ever since!!!

If you have side mount bushings the Selway cannot be beat.  I tried a Great Northern but it seemed to vibrate to me while the selway was rock solid.

I have and hunt with a Bear, all Burbinga takedown,B riser, with #3 limbs. The Thunderhorn side mount quiver is perfect on this bow. Quiet, rugged and just flat good looking. PM me with your  cell # and I will text pictures if your interested. Mine is not for sale but Thunderhorn quivers are readily available.   :campfire:

Any pictures of this longbow quick detach?
Also, with the longbow quick detach vs. the side mount, which would you recommend?
Thanks!
