Failed Plan and RER
« on: February 08, 2013, 07:59:00 PM »
Every year I hit the Kalamazoo Expo on the first day. Take a 1/2 days vacation, make the three hour drive and roll in when they open the doors at 5:00pm on Friday. This year I had some interference in the way of work and Friday and Saturday were just undo able. Thought Kalamazoo for 2013 was going to be a bust. After Church on Sunday morning I received clearence from Sweet Wife to hit the Expo. At 10:15am Sunday morning I was on the road heading for Kalamazoo and by 1:15pm I was in. As I roamed the Expo, with vendors packing up getting ready to close, I made my way to the RER booth. Kevin had a few bows left and one in particular caught my eye. Honduras Rosewood riser with Leopard Wood limbs, 60" 46@28. Perfect for my 30" draw. But I had a plan, I took no money with me intentionally so I wouldn't bring a bow home with me. I can't tell you how proud I was of myself when I came back home and Sweet Wife said "how much did this cost you". My response was "$5 to get in". That lasted about three days. After a couple of emails, this was on my porch Wednesday, pretty and a shooter too!

The plan was not a failure, in fact it was a success.  You did not bring a bow home, it was delivered!

Looks good!

Nice, The Leopard wood is very unique.
The season gave him perfect mornings, hunter's moons and fields of freedom found only by walking them with a predator's stride.

Can you give your Sweet wife my number?  Have her call me and let me know when the rummage sale begins    ;)

I think Kevin got to quite a few of us    :)

I came home with one of the new Vitals, but shot a 58" Retro and thought I really should have bought it as well. A few days later it started working on my mind. An e-mail to Sue confirmed they still had it in stock, so two more bows went up for sale to cover it.

I'll wait until the Retro comes in a few days and then post pics of both bows together. Kevin sure is guilty of contributing to the delinquency of an old man!

Not a lot of money to get a lot of bow in my opinion...mine is go-to bow out of about 15
I set out a while ago to reduce my herd of 40 bows...And I am finally down to 42
