My Max 1 limbs (ILF) are headed my direction on Tuesday. I'm really looking forward to trying these on a couple of Morrison Risers and maybe, if they fit, a TT Titan 2.

I'm comparing them to BF Extremes by Samick and sold by TT.

I've never been more satisifed with a bow than I am right now. I've increased my effective range by 10 more yards in 45 days.

I have long limbs on a 17 inch Phoenix. Bo weight is 44#@28 so I think they are around 46 @ my 29inch draw. I have it paper tested, brace height 7-3/4 SBD ultra string. I shot a 482 grain axis @ 162ft/sec roughly. My A&H same poundage shot the same arrow at 171ft/sec. I like the feel of the riser but I expected more out of the performance. I shot a few arrows outside and it shoots alright but not any faster the other bows I have shot.

Tim, I responded to your other thread about MAX I's. You need shorter limbs, and a much lower brace height to get the best out of them.

I have not shot mine out of a chrono, but I can tell mine is quicker than my other bows. Also, my brace height out of my 17 inch Phoenix and the short Max1 limbs is 65/8 inches.

Forgot to mention, Bob shoots his at 7 inches.

Tim, seems like your brace height is very high.

I am going to try my other SBD string tomorrow . It will put the brace height around 7-1/4.

One other thing, if you do get everything right, it is accurate. I always shoot an arrow in the morning as I come in from putting wood in the water stove. No glasses, stiff, second thing I do after I get out of bed. 15yrd shot at a small piece of paper in the target and I missed it by a quarter of an inch. The only other bow that I have shoot with similar results was my Welch Dakota . This bow seams more consistent. Yesterday, was really the first day I set up everything and shot it.

Night Stalker, I know how to fix your problem. You have been on every Web site I go to. So I want you to send the limbs back ASAP for a refund, so that you can find a set that works for you.

I have posted this at one of the other web sites too, so I will do here:
A wise man told me some months ago: "....dont put fps numbers in an archery forum, you know what will happen....."
He was so right.
I am very satisfied with my MAX1 longs, carbon foam. The speed is above average, but the best thing is the smooth draw and the torsional stiffness. And last but not least, those limbs are wonderful quiet.

Tim: Here is another option which occured to me after I posted. If you really want a 62" bow that will perform best at a 29" draw then get a set of Borders. However, Sid will tell you that the best performance will be with a brace height about 6.5"...maybe even 6". It seems that from what I have seen thusfar regarding the radical/static type recurve is that they work best with a lower brace height. Having shot both the Borders and the Morrisons that is the way to go unless you don't mind giving up some speed.

Night Stalker, I don't own a set of the MAX1 limbs but do own another set of premium carbon foam limbs and it's not just about speed. You certainly can feel a difference of smoothness of draw and crispness of release with yours. Most people I talk to can feel the difference and can hear the difference. I'm sure your limbs fall into this category of premium limbs.

While I've waited for the Max 1 limbs.

Bob Morrison has built these Max 1 limbs on the shorter end of the time-frame he quoted me which is great. He even did me a huge favor to hold me over while I waited.

I don't travel as much as I used to thank goodness, but it is uncanny how often a new bow or bow parts arrive while I'm out of town!
