Never had a consistant (or reliable) hunting buddy. Certainly am envious of you guys who have been hunting together for a long time.
Take care,
Jeff

I am fortunate to have several friends who hunt with me from time to time. We all shoot traditional.

The stickbows brought us together, then we became friends, then hunting partners.

Funny how diverse our individual lives are but we have found a common bond. Cool stuff, this traditional bowhunting.

I do most of my hunting alone, wasn't always like that but well time moves along, and I am the only one from the old group that still hunts and the younger guys have their hunting buddies, no matter I still get out as much as possible.  I am a little slower but I can still take my share of game. Wife worries every time I go out but never tells me not to.

I made my huntin buddy my wife last year! Here's a pic of her from her first year elk hunting!

I have several huntin buddies but my 15 year old son takes the #1 spot. Always has, always will.

I have hunted with a few really great people over the years.  Only three come to mind as my hunting buddies.  I would say that calling them hunting buddies probably does them a disservice as they are my best friends.
first obviously is my dad, he taught me everything I know about being a man, a hunter, and a person.

Second is Farva- he built my first recurve for me and got me started down this path of traditional bowhunting.  He was in my wedding, called when my first son was born, and is a great sounding board for anything a guy needs to ask about .

Last is a person I haven't shared a hunt with yet.  He came around in November and I can't wait for the future hunting seasons to come along.  I look forward to watching him and grandpa hunt together and being a part of each of his hunting firsts.  I already can't wait for the spring to throw him in the backpack thingy and stroll around listening to turkeys gobble and taking in the warm sunshine.  He is my best buddy and will forever be my hunting buddy.  Even if he chooses not to hunt as much as dad or even at all.

First and formost my son.  We have always hunted together since he was 13 (6 years now).  Then would have to be my wife's cousin. Got him started in trad a little over a year ago and hunted with him this past season.  We had a great time.

A little young yet but he'll get there.  I used to sit up with him for his 3 am feeding and watch sheep or moose hunting.  We were watching a moose hunt on tv a few weeks back and I swear, when the moose broke through the willows, Desmond grunted!

The two listed by rolltidehunter are mine. I raised them in the woods and they do our legacy proud.  I would trust those boys with my life and love 'em with all my heart.  Though we live thousands of miles apart, we always hunt together in spirit. The tall one is my own. Few people on earth understand whitetail buck habits better than he does.  Don't let RTH fool you, they laugh a lot because they are so dangerous afield.  Few get it the way they do.
