Merely an offering: May wish to consider locating and utilizing a couple of the Genesis type designs that will permit you to work your way up ~1# at a time.
Installing a pnuematic cylinder device such as 'Bernie's Shot Trainer Release Training Aid' will permit you to safely release as you don't wish to lose site of your form.
