If time and money weren't a factor ???
« on: February 23, 2013, 01:07:00 PM »
I know they are fortunate ones that have been able to fulfill their dream hunt, and would love to hear their storie's. But for those of us still in dream mode, what would your ultimate Traditional bow hunt over all other's be ? For myself, it has to be a hunt for African Leopard at nightime over bait. From reading about hunts from Capstick to Corbett, the adrenaline rush of a cat that stealthy being able to be up a tree and on a bait and never make a sound is amazing. I can't hardly imagine the feeling of trying to keep in check, focus and make the shot with the blood probably rushing through your ears like ocean waves. It would be such a experience to be in on selecting the spot, help setting the baits and be able to follow through at the moment of truth. Look forward to hearing everybody's one hunt over all others they wish for. Number two for me would be to have the opportunity to arrow a World class Whitetail !!

For me it would be either a 2 week pack trip in the yukon or B.C. for moose. Have a rustic log outpost cabin to stay in and then travel by horse or mule each day.

And if we can back up time I'd like to be at the Little Delta Cabin with Fred and Glenn......  : )

I have many places I would love to hunt. None really exotic I guess. B.C., Alaska, Montana, Colorado, Wyoming and New Mexico. Elk, moose, bear
mountain lion, deer and turkey. Just some places to enjoy the beauty of nature and have a chance to take any of these game. I grew up in the south and loved hunting those woods, just a simple man and these places have always been on my list of places to see and hunt. I forgot Idaho.

Sheep or goat would be really cool, but health and bad knees will not ever allow that to happen. So I'll be happy to someday have a successful hunt.....somewhere!!

My dream of stalking a Cape Buff just isn't reality anymore, for alot of reasons,so second best is what I do now. With my son and friends 25 miles into the Northern Alberta forest, with Walltents and woodburning stoves we chase Moose and Elk.Next is right out my back door in Saskatchewan chasing world class Whitetails and Muledeer.

I would love to spend a couple months in Australia. First would be water buffalo, then anything and everything else that is down under.
Reality is that it won't ever happen but dreams die hard.

At the top for me is elk and moose.  Still trying to figure out where and how.  I've set aside Sep 2014 for whatever I figure out.

I'm with CDR on this one....it would have to be elk out west.  I've never hunted them...never had a backcountry hunt.

Of course, I'd have to modify the prequisites to read, "If time and  money, and skill with trad gear weren't a factor . . ."
