Beman Centershot Arrows

Just placed an order yesterday from Big Jim for the Beman Centershot carbon arrows. Will these arrows take a wrap without going over the Beman logo they put on these arrows (I'm using 5" feathers)? How is the durability and over all review of the arrow?

I have been shooting the Beman Centershots for about a month.  I started shooting trad about a month ago so switching from compound to recurve was a learning expierence.  I found out quick that my aim was off and put a few into the side of my barn.  So I guess I can say I hit the broad side of a barn.    But they held up great no spliting or cracking from hitting the barn. Hahaha

Ron,
I just measured about 7.5" from the end of the shaft to the start of the logo.

 

So far I haven't broken a shaft and I haven't sleeved them.

One pass though so far.  Pretty happy with the initial results.

Is that a "factory" lightening of the wood grain color in the fletching area?

..or have you rubbed these up for fletching..or re-fletching?

Gang also keep in mind, these shafts differ in diameter to the older Beman mfx classics.  To give you an idea, the centershots take H nocks and the mfx took X nocks.

No you can't use the HIT inserts with these. It's a "H" size shaft.  My shafts came with a 50/75 break off brass HP style insert. I think they also refer to it as their rps insert.

This is fletched with 4 - 4 inch parabolics at 90 degree spacing.  There should be plenty of room left if you are using a 5 inch fletch on a 7 inch wrap.  The arrow flys well and looks to be as durable as the MFX Classic that Beman replaced with the Centershot.  The same arrow in the Centershot weighs about 40 grains less than the MFX Classic in the length that I cut mine to.  It might mean more FOC but I'm not sure I like the lesser weight. IMO
Also, the outside diameter of the Centershot is only .001 larger than the MFX.  That doesn't mean the nocks and insert are interchangeable from the MFX to the Centershot, just noting that the outer diameter is very nearly the same.

I received the Beman Centershot 500 shafts from Big Jim yesterday. Put a 7" yellow arrow wrap on from Onstringer. Added two 5" barred yellow and one grey barred feather. I did some tuning with all kinds of configurations including point weight. I settled on a 29" arrow with the 50 grain brass insert and 175 grain point. They fly like a dart with just the bare shaft. The total arrow weight is 494 grains. I will be shooting these arrows out of my 50# Leon Stewart longbows.

I can tell you that the Beman Centershots are a winner. Nice finish and design all the way around.
