Checkering ?
« on: February 26, 2013, 03:26:00 PM »
Does anyone know of anybody that does Checkering in Canada ? I have 3 Cari-bows that I would love to get the grips Checkered. I would like to send them south of the border, but the shipping costs and insurance would be insane !! Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I am glad I don't live in Manitoba. You must have a great self-control to own only 3 Caribows. I guess I would visit Abe once a month or so....
I know all about shipping costs and insurance... I live in The Netherlands and shoot American bows...

Can't help you with the checkering...
It don't mean a thing if it ain't got that string! [/i]

There are a multitude of gunsmiths in Canada who could do a great job of checkering your bows and likely only ask you for one arm and one leg to do the job...there is a bowyer named Dave Windauer (Silvertip)in Montana who does amazing checkering for way less than it is worth...Danny Rowan lives in Guam and it am pretty sure he sends his bows to Dave to get checkered...get my drift?
I set out a while ago to reduce my herd of 40 bows...And I am finally down to 42

If i get time Ill send you the pics. I find it a pain posting pics here. All I can say about the tuktu, is that it is super quiet, and super fast !!!
