feather hitting hand

I did a search but didn't see what i was looking for. I am shooting 35-55 out of my Wallace curve and the feathers are hitting my hand enough to draw a little blood. Is this an indication of weak spine?

Maybe?  Try raising your nocking point just a bit. That could be your problem too.

I had this problem for a long time. I shoot split finger. What cured me, was concentrating on pulling the bow with my middle finger. I was putting too much pressure on the string with my index finger, causing the arrow to slap down and kick out off the shelf. Pulling too much with the index finger probably pulls the string away from the face.

I was having this problem the past few days with my new longbow was bareshafting pretty good but not perfect, took the same advice as above and raised nock point slightly both problems cured bareshafts fell right in there and no more scratches on release!!! Might be worth a try for you also.

Keep us posted I had the same issue and moving the nock point made a difference

It's the quills cutting your finger. If your arrow nock fits loosely onto the string try adding a tie on lower nocking point.

I brought my nocking point up about 1/8", and that solved it for me. I still have a nice scar on my left index finger to remind me.
